Welcome to Year 5/6 Red's class page. Here, you will find lots of information and photos about everything we get up to throughout the year.
Mrs Morris visit
This week, we were very lucky to have Mrs Morris join us to teach us more about the Jewish faith. She explained some of her beliefs and what it is like to be a Jewish person in today’s society. We thoroughly enjoyed her visit and especially liked looking at the Hebrew texts she had brought in for us to look at.
Rev Ron visit
Last week, Rev Ron came into Year 5/6 to help us learn about how religion can be expressed through art and architecture. We had great fun looking at all of his photos and learning more about the Christian faith.
Maps of the Ancient Maya
In groups, we have created Ancient Maya maps. We used red to show mountain peaks, brown to represent mountains, green for the lowlands, yellow for hills and blue for rivers.
After learning all about ‘A Christmas Carol’ and Scrooge this half term, we decided as a class that Christmas is an excellent opportunity to be charitable and carry out acts of kindness. After lots of voting on which type of charity we should give to, we eventually decided to adopt an endangered animal - an orangutan! Merry Christmas 5/6 Red!
