Please find below information about the rich curriculum we provide.  If you have any specific questions regarding the curriculum we teach, please contact the school directly.

A Creative Curriculum

Our aim is to provide an exciting and engaging curriculum that inspires and challenges all learners and prepares them for the future. We are living in the midst of a technological revolution, where advancements in IT change all the time. Our school continually looks for ways to improve its facilities. Each class has an interactive whiteboard and children use a variety of electronic devises such as  I-pads to support their learning.

The school has a strong sporting ethos. We employ sports coaches specifically to provide professional coaching in a variety of sports. The coaches lead PE lessons in addition to those led by our class teachers. The school takes part in local and regional events and also enhances the curriculum with a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs.

The 'Arts' are important to us and all children take part in drama activities as part of the English curriculum, enabling many to grow in confidence, and self-esteem. The school performs concerts and productions throughout the school year, with Reception and Key Stage One performing at Christmas and Year 5/6 in the summer. Private instrument lessons provide additional opportunities for children to discover their true musical potential. Our Choir is extremely popular and the children enjoy performing to a variety of audiences.

We believe first hand experience is important for learning and we organise topic related trips and school visitors to enhance the learning opportunities.

Our Year 5 pupils benefit hugely from a three day residential to Marrick Priory in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, whilst our Y6 pupils enjoy a three day residential to Hawkhirst Scout Centre in Northumberland.

Through our exciting curriculum opportunities, we aim to develop every child, whatever their strength or area of interest. We aim to develop lively, enquiring minds and reflective learners. Our school is a place where everyone can flourish.
