This morning the children have been writing their letters to their new class teachers. They are excited to find out who their new teachers will be!
Today we have been designing our own modern versions of the Yorkshire Rose. The children enjoyed thinking about the patterns they could create using a range of different colours. They will look fantastic next week when they are put on display in the hall!
Last Friday we went on our Year 3/4 trip to the Grand Opera House. What a great day we had!

This afternoon our class have been creating their own dragon scale designs. We will be continuing this next Friday afternoon. Our final product will be a 3D dragon which will be displayed in the 3/4 corridor. Watch this space!

We are currently creating a new and exciting reading area next to our classroom,we would be very grateful for any donations of fiction/non-fiction books and also cushions for the children to sit on. We will be putting a photograph of our new reading area onto the website when it is finished. Watch this space!
Over the last fortnight we have been learning about life in Spain.Today the children have been creating advertising posters to encourage tourists to visit Spain.
This term we are very lucky to have a Spanish student who will be working with the year 3/4 children. We have already started to learn some Spanish. Why not practise saying some of these words at home?
Next term we will be comparing life in the UK to life in Barcelona as we will be welcoming Mrs Fowler back to school. We will then be studying myths and legends until February half term. Have a fabulous Christmas everyone!

Wow! What a great topic this half term! The children are thoroughly enjoying learning all about chocolate. We have been finding out about York - A Chocolate City. Tomorrow we will be tasting some different types of chocolate to see which the children like the best as well as comparing expensive chocolate with a cheaper alternative. I will also be asking the children to choose their favourite type of chocolate eg. milk, dark or white in preparation for our lolly making session next week.

Our new topic is Animal Kingdom. We are sure that this is going to be another fabulous topic! It would be great if the children could research some different animals and their habitats over the half term holiday! Maybe they could visit their local library to carry out their research or use the internet.
